Dear Yolanda

All too suddenly, you left us. Your life is a gift from God and I am blessed that He brought you into my life … sharing friendship and faith created a special connection between us. You were a devout Roman Catholic, one who attended Mass daily, even when on holidays. When we shared a room at Hotel Schwarzwalder Hof in Freiburg, 2000, I remember that you woke up very early each morning, attended mass at the Munster , came back and greeted me with a cheerful “Good Morning.”

I will always remember your beautiful smile, your laughter, your sense of humour. You were a caring and kind friend. You, Bee and I had such fun celebrating our birthdays each year, the most memorable one at Zermatt , when we enjoyed fondue and was entertained by the Swiss Folk singers…yodelling to you and Bee!!

Yolanda, you have climbed many mountains and Praise the Lord that he enabled you to climb the last mountain and the most special one, Mt Sinai. You must have had an awesome time, encountering the Lord there.

While we miss you, we take comfort in knowing that you are safe in the arms of Jesus in eternal glory.

“Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay…
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,
For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord.”
