Prim and proper with a serious demeanor, Yolanda nevertheless had a heart of gold. She loved to buy little gifts of chocolates and cookies for her fellow colleagues when we were working as part-time specialists at the NLB Digital Library Services Division located at the Geylang East Branch Library. She would smile sweetly and say “thank you” in a very appreciative voice whenever we reciprocated her kindness with little gifts of our own, such as tiny pieces of fresh fruits or some healthy snacks. A very gracious person, she would be missed by her fellow librarians.
