Researcher’s Networking Session and Book Launch
Over 100 researchers from various academic and research institutions and organisations attended our annual Researcher’s Networking Session held on 27 February.
Jointly organised by the National Library and National Archives of Singapore, this networking session provides researchers with a professional platform to network and explore exciting new opportunities as well as inspire the next generation of researchers.

Two new research services were also announced at the event. Consult a Subject Librarian Service is an appointment-based reference service offered at the National Library to help you with research on Singapore history and heritage and literary arts. Click here to find out more.
Spatial Mapping is a new initiative that overlays maps from the National Archives of Singapore onto Google maps. Click here to find out more.
Researchers showed great interest in the displays highlighting materials from the National Library and National Archives of Singapore’s collections. These included the first issues of magazines from the Legal Deposit Collection, selected journals from the Rare Materials Collection, Nature Society’s minutes of meetings, Song Ong Siang’s postcards, ephemera from Tamil theatre dating from the 1950s to 2000s, posters and brochures donated by Alpha Gallery, as well as the Eye on Asia portal.
Researchers were positive about the initiative of bringing researchers and the library and archives together.
