This November, LAS would like to invite the community to engage in conversation with our esteemed speakers, as they share different aspects of Transformational Leadership.

Our first speaker Mr. Gene Tan, Assistant Chief Executive, NLB, will share the recently launched Libraries and Archives Blueprint 2025 (LAB25), a blueprint for a five-year transformational journey to reimagine libraries and archives through innovation and experimentation with partners and the community.

Our next speaker Ms. Kim Underhill, Co-founder of She Brilliance, is an Industrial & Organizational Psychologist, Executive Coach and Management Consultant, who will share her thoughts on New Age Leadership and what it takes to become an Effective, Influential, and Inspiring Leader.

Mr. Gene Tan
Assistant Chief Executive, Partnership & Strategy Group
National Library Board, Singapore

As the Executive Director of the Singapore Bicentennial Office at the Prime Minister’s Office, Gene Tan helmed the Singapore Bicentennial which commemorated the 200th anniversary of Raffles’ arrival in Singapore in 1819. He was also the Creative Director of the SG50 Exhibition: The Future of Us that captured the hopes and dreams of Singaporeans. Gene was formerly the Director of the National Library, where he developed the Singapore Memory Project, and also the former President of the Library Association of Singapore. Under his leadership, NLB and the IFLA Regional Office for Asia and Oceania launched the Leaders’ Conversations series, which is a new digital platform for leaders in the region and beyond to share their insights on major developments in the library world. Gene is currently Assistant Chief Executive at the National Library Board, spearheading strategy, international relations, partnerships and transformation

Ms. Kim Underhill

Kim Underhill is an Industrial & Organisational Psychologist, Executive Coach, Management Consultant and Keynote Speaker. Armed with more than 25 years international business and management experience in the food service industry, Kim held senior roles managing fortune 500 key accounts and leading change through strategic & organisation development, increasing people effectiveness and business performance. 

Kim is the author of “Success Inside Out, Challenge or Choice”, a 6-step self-coaching methodology and guidebook that helps individuals understand what it takes to gain ultimate work-life balance and achieve success under any circumstance and in any environment to be a better version of themselves.

Kim launched her 2nd book “New Age Leadership” in May 2021 to help individuals through her training programme of same title covering Self-Leadership, Team-Leadership and Business-Leadership, a holistic approach to becoming effective, influential and inspiring leaders.
